1.6. Primary use-cases for BDR

BDR excels in environments where users are distributed across high-latency and/or unreliable network links where conventional tightly-coupled clustering software does not work well.

It is a particularly good choice where the application writes entirely, or almost entirely, to data that is clustered by user group or location. For example, a department store will write almost exclusively to tables relevant to its branch.
